Ms. Quigley:

They say that Justice is blind so here’s my move

To bear the greater weight of evidence the burden of proof

The whole truth

And nothing but the truth if you can see it coming

When the scales start to tip

You gonna know we done it

Ladies and gentlemen please listen up tightly

These are painful accusations and I don’t make lightly

On the night of June 4th in the Brooklyn streets

My client was assaulted by the New York Police

My client was assaulted by the New York Police

It was a peaceful protest demonstration

Mr. Boarman was marching when the situation

Escalated cops start surrounding

Smashing and bashing my clients head in the ground and

We demand you reprimand

In the only kind of way they seem to understand

They took advantage

Look at him covered in bandages

We have to sue the city for the full financial damages

Justice is difficult but never insurmountable

We wanna work together to hold the cops accountable

A million dollars would be par for the course

When the police department exercise excessive force

Mr. Fennick:

To serve and protect is a noble pursuit

And the City of New York is absolutely resolute

In keeping people safe as a matter of course

So let’s take a closer look at the events of June 4th

How did Mr. Boarman’s head hit the pavement?

I’d like to introduce to evidence this affidavit

The arresting officers’ own account

Of how Mr. Boarman’s actions brought his problems about

First the crowd was threatening riot

Disrupting the traffic led by your client

So the cops gave fair warning telling them to stop

But your client, Mr. Boarman, started cursing the cops

Moves were discussed and options were weighed

The officers determined an arrest should be made

They tried to take him quietly a willing arrangement

It’s regrettable he fell and hit his head on the pavement

Furthermore there’s an obvious impunity

Officers on duty have qualified immunity

If the court ignored this precedent we’d be shocked

So we respectfully request that this matter be dropped

We request this matter be dropped
